What software are you using, i only recently started using software to pre-design a crossover for a 4way that i am building. Cut down development time significantly and the final response is pretty darn close.

one doesn't have to go to the extent of the old-style massive winged baffles. from a 550mm you can still get sufficient bass but the driver Q needs to be pretty high

i also have to agree that 120hz is way too low for a 4" to perform properly. i use a dayton FR in my TQWT but not a minimalist cross over, closer to 180 but 250 would be ideal. personally, I wouldn't bother to go to a larger driver. you won't solve anything, you will just introduce more...

First of all. You need much more space around the bass driver. The panel needs a much stiffer panel than the current panel. It also needs weight to deal with the vibrations.

I think the idea was intended to look through them and i appreciate the technical side of the design and the modern stiffening as applied and would great in a loft. Unfortunately I can point out some critical design errors. If you turned that design upside down you would have less issues with it
