I have it on good authority that aliens enjoy jitter more than the actual music. All the jitter removed by our high end devices is transmitted to collector stations for their enjoyment.

I think part of the vehement defence one sees of either cinema amps or stereo depends on whether you're a sports car or a land rover Discovery kind of person. I prefer to massively compromise on overall practicality and versatility to do one thing well. That's why my wife married me  >:D

Maybe things have improved on the cinema amp front in the last 7 years. Back in 2010 or 2011 when my cinema amp knowledge was current the stereo presentation of a mid tier 110 to 120 wpc denon or Yamaha amp couldn't stand toe to toe with even the best of the budget integrateds. I have a trends...

I have long maintained (and been thoroughly beaten down by the likes of Naughty) that a mid tier integrated stereo amp will kill even a moderately high end cinema amp. Before I get taken to task let me emphasise that I'm not saying that for R100k or more you will not get a satisfying stereo...
