@Tonteldoos - thank you. I did google and saw the QED options. Wondering if anyone has experience with these things - concern will always be degradation of sound through adding an additional component into the mix. But you make a fair point, perhaps the solution is just to upgrade the speakers...

For me it’s been, don’t chase specs it’s a bottomless expensive pit. Audition gear if possible and settle on what sounds good to you. Take time to appreciate your equipment. If you’ve heard something currently out of your price range, rather set a goal to go for what you want in a year or two...

Hi BiZKiT, So true. My first pair of speakers was the MA RX2s. Those 8” drivers on a bookshelf. Absolutely loved them. They definitely needed some juice to come alive though.
