    Frequency response

I had a guy listen to my new speakers... My mids are still down according to him. So I have to either attenuate the bass and tweeter or get a better mid range... Crossover won't fix this problem. :sd: :sd: :sd: Any suggestions for a good'ish midrange with 90dB sensitivity from 400Hz to...

    long weekend build

Looks awesome! It looks like you mounted the transistors quite high on the heatsink? Where will you be getting the anodizing done?

    Frequency response

The sound is fixed!!! Just listening to the speaker I can hear the difference. The midrange is now as it should be. I played a bit but crossing it in at 630Hz worked the best. That huge bump at 650Hz on the midrange is damped by using a 6dB type crossover and the woofer fades out from 800Hz.  I...

    Frequency response

I never saved the the new measurements  :sd: I have not fixed the crossover yet but the current sound has a lot less midrange. The highs are clearer than what I am used to without being harsh and I definitely have more bass. I am going to work on it this weekend. Try and find the best crossover...

    Frequency response

bbe22 that article helped a lot! THANKS  ;D Looks like I found my problem!!! I did nearfield testing on the drivers and there is a distinct drop at 750Hz and again at 4kHz. So I will move the cross-over frequencies to 500Hz (filter the bump on the midrange at 650Hz) and then change the 5kHz...

DIY Li-Ion battery to power a mobile rig.

For $1,69 I'd say take a chance. Measure and check if it works as you want when it gets here.

DIY Li-Ion battery to power a mobile rig.

Those you linked to do not seem to have a balanced cell charge. This does look like it has the balancing in: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4S-Li-ion-Lithium-30A-14-8V-18650-Battery-BMS-PCB-Protection-Board-Cell-Balance-/162469565502?hash=item25d3f0d43e:g:WcMAAOSwnF9Y7Twe For a 5V 3A application you...

3-Way ported. I used these speakers: GRS 8FR-8 Full-Range 8" for base, Peerless by Tymphany D19TD-05 3/4" Poly Dome Tweeter and a Visaton M10 4" midrange. The 8" is a whizzer cone. I did do a phase plot but didn't include it here. I'll add it later tonight. One thing I am suspecting of being...

    Frequency response

Thanks Dodja. When I listened last night I the midrange was crap  :sd:. The low and highs were good. So I am sure there is a problem with the midrange but I am not sure how to fix it.

    Frequency response

I have built a set of speakers and did my first test with HolmImpulse just now. I need help with interpreting the frequency response graph... :nfi: I think there is a problem between 100Hz and 300Hz. The bass from these boxes are pretty good so far  :2thumbs: The drivers have not been run in...

    Marantz SR7005 DIY repair

I would also test the transformer and replace the caps. The way the spike could have passed through the board seems like its went through the transformer first before killing the IC. I would be suspicious of all the caps in that part of the circuit. Also do a short circuit test with the IC...

Repairing Rotel amp - one channel cooking, one chill

It could be that either of those transistors are "leaking" and causing current to flow. You will need to remove them from the circuit and test them. You cant test them in circuit. Sent from my SM-T805 using Tapatalk
