Shopping for USB DAC's is an exercise in pain, most of the main models don't have local representation. The most comprehensive website was www.wantitall.co.za but at 100% markup over international prices :headbanger: - and, of course, you can't order these things from overseas without tricks...
Thanks Blackjack, but a R10'000 DAC seems a little steep :/ especially since all I want is USB in -> RCA out (and best possible sound, of course).
Other thing is that I run Linux, so no proprietary Windows/Apple drivers.
Any other recommendations?

Anybody have any experience running a Usb Dac as source for hi-fi?
I am currently running mostly digital source (computer sounds card, 3.5mm jacks into rca's), mostly 320 kbps mp3 but converting cds to lossless (flac, alac).
Is there a significant quality improvement with a dedicated usb dac...
