Shopping for USB DAC's is an exercise in pain, most of the main models don't have local representation. The most comprehensive website was www.wantitall.co.za but at 100% markup over international prices  :headbanger: - and, of course, you can't order these things from overseas without tricks...

Thanks Blackjack, but a R10'000 DAC seems a little steep :/ especially since all I want is USB in -> RCA out (and best possible sound, of course). Other thing is that I run Linux, so no proprietary Windows/Apple drivers. Any other recommendations?

Hi all, thanks CAD for the welcome, so USB DAC is def way to go. Next decision is to decide which one  :P I am driving a pair B&W 683's off a NAD C 375BEE amp, with my, ahem, crappy source for now. Any suggestions on what to look at?
