Looking for a power switch for Sony AV receiver

Not exactly, but it has a similar mechanism - click once and it stays in - click again and it pops out. I'll see if I can take a pic of it this evening. Thanks!

Looking for a power switch for Sony AV receiver

Hi all Forgive me if the answer to this is somewhere on the forum. I am looking to replace a faulty power/standby switch on my Sony DA5200ES AV receiver. It's on its own PCB board and can easily be swapped out. Any ideas where I might look? I just need the part, but I don't have a part number...

    Re Cabling an old friend.

Nice, neat job! Where did you get the Mogami locally, if you don't mind me asking?

    Headphones Replacement

Enjoy. I have had many hours of enjoyment from my M50s. The do open up (and the bass tightens) after some burn-in time though. Around 20 hours should make the most difference.

    Repairing connector

Take it from me, you need to be very sure you have the right wattage soldering iron. Anything too hot and you'll melt the plastic in the plug before the wires have time to adhere to the contacts. 15W should do it, but be sure to heat the contacts only as much as is necessary.

    Philips Fidelio X2

So after doing some thorough listening I am ready to post my initial thoughts. Out of the box I was immediately struck by the quality of these cans. Fantastic, solid construction with great use of aluminium for the cups, a genuine calf's leather headband wrapped over a firm wire support and a...

    Headphone recabling?

Regarding the dye, there has been a response from the manufacturer here. Doesn't seem to be a problem like some people are claiming. I also have a fairly large head so no worries there. ;) I bought them from Amazon.it for 245 Euros including import costs and shipping. Apparently they should be...

    Headphone recabling?

Well look what I've gone and done now. Just bit the bullet and ordered the Philips Fidelio X2. :groovy: Nobody tell my wife.

    Headphone recabling?

Yes I think that's what it's called. A fairly dense disc around 5mm thick. Yep, for the price it's pretty good. 24/96, USB OTG, native DSD decoding. Internal 3500mAh battery, perfect for my needs. ;) hehe, nope, modding these cans was definitely not part of my original motive. I just felt...

    Headphone recabling?

Thanks! I'm afraid I don't have access to any testing equipment, so no measurements to share. I'd imagine it's now somewhere closer to the frequency graph of the similarly priced, open-backed AD700. Original M50 graph here. However, I can provide my subjective opinions. The problem I had with...

    Headphone recabling?

Those who know me will know that I'm never totally satisfied with anything. ;) So I decided to redo the sleeving. I think it looks a lot better now. Also you may notice that I did the open back mod a while ago, hence the mesh on the back of the cups.

    Headphone recabling?

I did a fair bit of reading before settling on this route. The logic is sound when one considers cat 5e/6 cables are made to a set standard, are fairly low impedance and are well shielded. There are actually quite a few examples of people using this type of cable for speakers and headphones...

    Headphone recabling?

Here's a pic of the new setup. Hmm, not entirely sure what you mean. I just took 2 twisted pairs of cat6 from a 4-pair network cable (I left the foil shielding on but removed the outer pvc case and wire mesh shielding). Then I soldered the two ground wires together to the jack along with the...

    Headphone recabling?

Thanks. I actually ended up re-doing them since I found the new cable made the cans sound veiled. So much for cheapish ofc. Anyhow, after some research I decided on cat6 cable (2 pairs of twisted strands) with separate grounds for each driver. I must say it's really opened up the soundstage and...

    Headphone recabling?

So I just decided to do it myself. ;)

    Headphone recabling?

Hi all Just wondering who I can approach to recable my headphones locally. Nothing fancy, just want a decent (straight, braided) cable. I don't have expensive cans (Audio-Technica ATH M50s with coiled cable) so am not looking to pay a fortune. I would do it myself but I'm afraid my soldering...
