A Choice of NAS-devices | Which One Do You Prefer and Why?

Again, I need the advice of forum members- this time of owners of one of the following NAS-devices:

1. Asustor AS3102T NAS

2. Synology DiskStation DS214play

3. Custom-built NAS-device

Pros? Cons? Why do you prefer your particular brand/model? What should I look out for? In particular, how good and user-friendly is the software provided with the brand you prefer?

If you are the owner of a custom-built NAS-device, in particular a custom-built budget Mini-ITX server with FreeNAS/Kodi, please share your experience.
