Hi all, I hope you're well.
I want to know how you engage in and explore the (headphone) audiophile hobby in SA.
Our access to cans, IEMs and other supplementary equipment is heavily limited compared to most of the rest of the world.
Do you just watch reviews, look at FR graphs, blind buy and hope for the best? This is my current solution.
Or is there a way around this?
I live in JHB and I've found it difficult to find places to listen to and test equipment.
My second gripe is the cost of virtually all equipment in SA compared to the rest of the world. Shipping and import fees for anything bought outside of the country are absolute killers and this just compounds the lack of listening access issue where you get more heavily punished if you don't enjoy something.
Is this just what we live with?
Thanks
