I am busy with a new valve amp project, and I was looking for ideas on power and standby pilot lights.
I see online that McIntosh amps illuminate their valves. Looks quite cool.
I am using KT88s, 6SN7GTs and 6CG7s.
It seems only the 6CG7s can be illuminated from below as the other two have plastic (or bakelite) bases.
Has anyone tried to "öpen "the end of the centre of the base for this purpose? I wouldn't want to damage my valves in any way.
