Hi - I recently joined and this is my first post.
I wish to build a nice stereo system which will suit my needs.
My budget over the next few months is approx. 20K
I have acquired the following to date.
1) Rotel RB981 Amp paired with a Rotel RC972 preamp.
2) B&W DM603 S1 speakers connected with 8 x 3m lengths of van den Hul cable model "The Wind"
www.vandenhul.com/pC28.aspx
3) An Ipod dock (temp, until I can find a nice cd player)

I know the above components are old but I believe still very good value for money.....R6500.00 so far.
I still have approx 20k for the rest of the system, over the next few months.

I have not yet taken delivery of the above system as the components are coming from two sources, and I would like your opinions on how the amps pair with the speakers and what the sound will be like.
Would I need an active sub to compliment the bass?

If I wanted to go A/V later on, could I incorporate this setup with the A/V receiver? What is a good used A/V Receiver to go for and would this receiver receiver FM and AM radio or would I have to buy a seperate receiver for this?
I would like to have the option of listening to my music via this system and then incorporating it into the A/V setup when watching the TV

Thanks for a great forum!
Any suggestions on a good used A/V receiver?
What other components would I require?
