Advice on soldering SMD please

Hi

I am assembling a HP amp and to get those little SMD resistors mounted cleanly is a bear. Can anyone share some tips/tricks? I am using helping hands with a magnifying glass with a normal solder station and they connect to their respective pads, but it doesn't look as well aligned as I'd like.
