So in keeping an open mind and having listened to mostly valve based,low powered amps and diy horns...i sat myself down and prepared for an assault on my senses... about to be released by the behemoth highend speakers and mammoth solidstate power amps beside them...and boy was i assaulted...scale, power,precision in bucketloads.................followed by yawns and the need for some painkillers.The "highend" offers one thing that i desire and thats the "size" that its able to project...sadly lacking though is a rather long list of shortcomings...lack of finesse,inability to "draw you in",treble excitement,lack of "real"dynamics....and most importantly zero "chickenskin" effect.Those ou toppies got it so right so many decades ago...and we've managed to go backwards ever since.....
