It seems I'm the only person on the planet that managed to blow a cylinder head gasket on a Nissan 2.4 16V motor. The useless idiot of a mechanic ( recommended by a friend ) did a half job and stalled for 3 months so I sent a tow truck to retrieve it and bring it back to my house.
The engine is still in pieces and the timing seems to be a complete mess with nothing lining up according to what info I can get off the net.
What i need to know is, can I safely crank this motor over without valves hitting pistons, or do I need to remove the cams to allow all the valves to be closed ?

This is a DIY job, as I don't know if the engine is already damaged beyond repair with bent valves or a cracked block, or I could possibly get it running by Friday ( my deadline ).

Either way, it's getting sold or scrapped depending on the result.
I don't want to spend another cent on it other than oil and water if it can run again. 2005 NISSAN Hardbody Dcab Hi rider.

Thanks in advance.
