So it's been a great two months. Last month a runaway truck demolished my Ford Bantam, and on Monday the cam-belt went on my wife's car,and we're looking at around R15 000 in repairs. I have two RAs that went into 'hibernation' when I got retrenched from AVSA, and they're pretty much just sitting there doing nothing. I've asked about accessing at least some of the money, but I keep getting a straight 'No, not until you're 55'.
This repairs disaster with my wife's car is a huge blow: the business is still nowhere back up to pre-Covid levels, so I desperately need to access this money - is there anyway I can cash in part of all of one of the RAs? Surely there must be some sort of exception one can apply to access what is essentially your own money? Can anyone advise?
