OK, so we bought an old-ish property in Centurion and I have a problem with a small section of the drainage / sewerage system, which still consists of clay pipes, it looks like.
It is from the gully that services our en-suite to the "main" connection towards the main municipal sewer.
There seems to be a blockage (suspected tree roots) somewhere between the gully trap and the 2m section of clay pipes leading to the "main" flow.
So my questions are:
How were the clay flanges usually secured and sealed to the clay pipes?
I assume that I can replace this section with PVC, and if so, how do I secure and seal it to the clay pipes?
Thank you in advance.
