Back in the day most speakers were used for stereo only, then when home theatre took hold companies started adding different speakers to accommodate for it.
My questions is just for the main front L&R speakers I understand surrounds and Dolby atmos speakers are designed differently for there purpose but are the front main speakers voiced differently if your goal is just HT over stereo or vice versa.
One example I see is with Sonus Faber speakers. I've seen a lot of people complain that Sf new speakers arent good as the older Franco Serblin ones were because they've changed the voicing to accommodate HT needs. I've noticed that the newer Sf all seem to have a rising frequency response except for the odd few models, not sure if that's to get a more balanced sound for both formats or just new voicing for there new ranges..
Anyway just curious if you design speakers what do you differently for Stereo and HT
