Are there any Fostex lovers here? Which ones do you like? A picture or two maybe?
My first exposure to Fostex speakers was at BK's place (ala KK) a pair of Frugel horns ... I think... I was just getting into Hi-Fi then. I thought they sounded very good, but I was hunting for old school big bass speakers at that time... however, the memory of their clean and crisp sound stayed with me. Subsequently I purchased a pair of valve mono blocks and the previous owner had a pair of FE206's with it. Once again I as awed with their sound. But damn, they not pretty looking drivers. Back home my old school speakers sounded good with the new valves, but the Fostex scratch was there now and I wanted to replicate the sound I heard when I auditioned the mono blocks.
So, I ordered a pair from Madisound and build a pair of Kirishima back loaded horn boxes. They sound great. Subsequently got a pair of FE126's and built them into a small spiral enclosure. I was astounded with their clean sound. I am awed with these little boys. Fostex never disappoints.
