For those interested in 60's valve designs I finally completed restoring this Armstrong (A220 I think) from around 1962.
Push/pull EL84's with 3 x ECC83 at the front. Amp was neglected, corroded and had been rattle can painted over the top of the rust.
Complete strip down to bare metal was required, priming and painting. Tag strip circuit was rebuilt with new components and all wiring changed too. Only the chassis, valave bases and transformers remain. Anyway hopefully have not strayed too far from original.. Using a passive pre-amp as a front end. Really nice sounding amp maybe more neutral than the Leak Stereo 20 I'm comparing it to.
