Curious about the opinions here on a situation with only compromises: I want to put a TV in a bedroom where the only practical location wall-mounting it in the place of the mirror as in the picture with viewing position from there. Size a bit bigger, the mirror is approx 42" so will probably go 55". I considered all the alternatives, even actuators to flip a ceiling-mount 45degrees when used, but none will fly.
Need a wider camera lens but the left wall is close to the left edge and the right wall about 1.3m from the mirror's right.
Now I'd of course like to have some decent(ish) audio with that. The options are highly limited though with three main categories:
1. Flanking the TV as either two speakers or soundbar underneath but compromised location being to the right of the listening position and the cupboard obstructing esp. the left channel.
2. A soundbar, stereo or LCR setup in the 10cm clearance space above the cupboard, or angled ceiling mounts still clearing the doors without looking like a concert rig. Something like B&W M2 or Boston Micro90s can fit in there, with a nice sub stashed away somewhere. This will guaranteed be the better sonic choice but may sound odd with the speakers being much closer and all three to the right of the TV.
3. Throw in the towel and just use the native TV sound. This is so unpalatable I'm not sure it's even worth it then anymore...
