Soo, I am sure majority of people on this forum have their AV equipment covered under their household content insurance.
However the price of equipment has increased quite significantly over the past couple of years and some items are no longer available etc.

So I am wondering what you guys do in terms of getting a proper valuation in terms of replacement value for your AV equipment or how you have it insured.
I reached out to my insurer a while back to make sure that if something were to happen that my audio equipment would be covered without any issues and asked about replacement and value and they basically told me as long as I have a valuation then they would cover it and work with that.

So my questions is, where or how do you guys go about getting a valuation on your equipment? I imagine the valuation for insurance should be replacement value as you want to be put back into the same or similar position in the event of theft, flood etc. and not just paid out what you might have paid for said equipment couple a years ago as with that payout you'd probably be left with something far inferior due to the higher prices.
