Hi Guys,
I have the oppurtunity of aquiring a pair of these that come out of a guys' studio. These are going for around R12000. My only problem is that I think these are quite old and it is quite a bit of money. From what I can figure out it seems that they were discontinued in 1997, so best case these would be around 8-9 years old. I had a listen to them yesterday and the top end was very constrained. The guy blamed it on his Yamaha ampand indicated that when they run it on a Krell that the tops will take your ears off! Anyway, for around another R8000 I can get 703's brand new and I like those very much. I probably won't go for the 703's because I'd like to build my own, but it seems that the 801's might be a good buy. What do you guys think?
