Right, so, my remaining ASW 750 will be going to a new home this week...
I'll have the ASW 800 remaining, and need to select a new partner for it in the mixed HT / music dual purpose environment in the living room.
The B&W DB1 is the obvious first choice for a modern flagship product - but given the fact that Audyssey MultiEQ XT32 does a pretty decent job of taming subwoofers, I fear the DB1's room correction may be a tad redundant in this setting.
Which begs the question - is there enough to differentiate it from just adding a second ASW 800 or an ASW 850 in that setup? Yes, it has dual 12" drivers, but an ASW 850 wouldn't be too far behind in the amount of air it could flow.
So, particularly to the usual HT suspects - windshear, Timbaland, etc - based on your experience, in an Audyssey-corrected HT environment, does the DB1 offer enough to justify its premium over an older 800 series B&W subwoofer?
Thanks in advance gents.
