October 2014 I sold an item to a forum member. We agreed on the final price after I refused his request for an additional discount ? the lad claimed he travelled quite far from Pretoria. He auditioned and checked the condition of the unit. We concluded the transaction amicably, and he even invited me to his place to listen to his gear (glad I didn?t take up the offer). In December he contacted me about a turntable he wanted to flog ? I offered to assist with the sale. He then lists the item I sold to him at my initial asking price. Needless to say I found the whole experience distasteful, to say the least. He contacted him and his only response was that he will never do business with a kid like me again. It?s true you can?t always associate age with wisdom!!! Understandably he owns the unit and he?s got every right to sell it at whatever price he deems fit. And I have no sour gripes with the profit he made. It is quite clear not everyone on this forum has that last ounce of integrity or gentlemanliness. He?s probably a minority and an exception ? the likes to be avoided at all costs, by me at least. We agreed never to cross paths again. I can understand why some likeminded hobbyist individuals never bother with this forum.

This got me thinking, is there a way for ghost traders to be identified from the chuff on this forum?
