I'm sitting here smugly congratulating myself on the great sound of my little desktop system put together over the last few months at a bargain price off the forums. I must doff my cap to B.K. from whom I scored the bargains off the forum.
I already had a CA Dacmagic XS from ultrasound at shade over 2k - nice little sabre dac, the size of a matchbox, capable of 192/24.
I snapped up the little Maverick audio A1 tube hybrid amp for 2750 when B.K. put it online and then when I picked it up saw his Sony SSLA500ED speakers which I picked up for just over a grand.
So for 6k all in (I already had interconnects and speaker cables my desktop system is really really nice. :thumbs:
