Looking for some assistance/advice...
Boston VR1 are getting old (launched in 1994) and compared to Monitor Audio's RS-6 sounded very bright and perky. Currently running via a yamaha RXV-2700, centre a Boston VR12, presence a pair of Boston CR7, sub a PSB and surround Boston VR20's (room size about 44 squares with vaulted ceiling, carpeted, lots of windows but very good insulated blinds). The idea is to start upgrading fronts to either Monitor Audio RX-6, Kef IQ7 or even Kef's IQ9; would any of the aforementioned be deemed a good choice and indeed an upgrade or should I rather look for a pair of bigger Boston's. i.e. VR2 or even VR3?
System is used for movies and music, i.e. Sting, Eagles, older rock and anything from the 80's!
Perhaps you can also recommend cabling that go with any of these speakers. Any other comments with regard to another brand not mentioned will also be appreciated (same price range though...).
Tx
