Can you change the colour of a Polk Audio speaker?

Hi guys, I need some sound (excuse the pun) advice from someone on this one....
Is it possible to change the cherry wood colour to black? I have found a pair of RTi6's at a good price but I will need to change the colour. If I am not mistaken, the Polks are real wood with a veneer finish.....
Any suggestions on whether I can do this would be really appreciated!
