Hi there,
Looking for a cap as per subject. For a Rotel RP2500 TT. Unit keeps spinning when tonearm is parked. Mahlue and I both suspected faulty contact switch.
Opened up and tested switch, but it was working 100%. Had a spare switch so replaced anyway. Checked the circuit while live and the switch definitely opens on contact. But circuit still gets power!
Now suspecting cap as above.
Unit also has pronounced AC buzz. Both channels. Worse when earth lead is disconnected from amp. Still there even if TT unplugged from mains. Check headshell wiring and tested all earth connects. All ground connections seem fine. Could the cap above be causing same simptoms?
Other Suggestions?
PS: Checked all the obvious stuffs. Amp is fine. Sansui a-60 newish PSU filter caps. Not an amp transformer hum. All other inputs clear. With Phono selected only hums when this rotel TT plugged in.
:headbanger:
I am in sandton area during the day PTA east evenings.
