So I have covers over my speakers to protect the Piano black finish from fingers and crazy kids. I've had them covered like this for almost 5 years now and my cat has never ever tried to use them as a scratch post until this morning, I'm still in bed and my son comes running into the room frantically... Dad dad Mook is scratching your speakers, the horror of what could be.. Luckily there's only one sctrach on the piano black finish about 3cm long though 
If I take the covers off though then chances are the grills and possible drivers will be in the firing line..
What do guys with cats do? Maybe if I buy her a scratch post for inside or I remember stuff called be gone to kerp cats away from stuff?
