I had an incident where my centre was humming and I couldnt locate any grounding issues. I later realised there was an RCA cable that was touching the centre speaker wire. As soon as I separated them the humming disappeared. Both RCA and speaker wire are insulated. Speaker wire is Audioquest and RCA is house brand from Sound's Great.
How do you explain that? Does it have anything to do with poor shielding of the cables?
