Cheap and cheerful diy headphone amp and parts price

Hi

I recently got my first over ear headphones,philips deep bass headphones.yes i know its not the best but its way more comfy than in ear types.

I have realised that the headphones will benefit from a headphone amp especially when using a source like a cellphone.

I would like to know if anyone has built a headphone amp and how much parts would cost and where in CT i can find the parts.ideally it should not cost more than R500 in parts (excluding power supply and case) and i would prefer something that works off a transformer.

Any ideas?
