Yeeesssss. After many months of trying to find a program whereby I can conveniently kill wifi device connections on a temporary basis I stumbled upon this for the mobile.

The paid version was R77,00. The demo version only blocks them for about 5 minutes and then closes itself, which lets them run amuck again
It works beautifully.
On starting you hit the arrow button to do a search.
You can add the device names or the children's names to the MAC address for easy identification.
This info is retained after a reboot.
It also shows the data upload / download figures for each connected device for that session.
Pick a name.
Press the "Grab" button. They're blocked ;D ;D
Press "Grab" again and all is restored.

It could always be done via the router's software but this entailed my removing and then entering the MAC address each time which wasn't really practical.
If the apk gave us the opportunity to throttle their bandwidth speed instead of blocking it then it would have been perfect.
For the moment it is worth every penny.
