Good Morning
I have the Daan Jacobs set of RS-2 Preamplifier Classic Series, Mossfed amps and Reference 5 speakers since early 90's.
The pre-amp has a slight imbalances which is very evident at low volumes (you got to turn the balance way over to the left speaker).
I read another entry on this forum with the same problem. Is this inherent to these pre amps?
Can it be fixed?
Maybe relating to this; on low volume, you sometimes loose the "signal" to the right side speaker and have to turn up the volume quite high before
it is returned (with uncomfortable consequences on your ears!).
If you keep the volume high, which is not possible in confined 6m x 6m space I now use, it does not "cut out" to the right hand side speaker.
How much will one have to spent on which (second hand perhaps) brand pre amp to get at least the same quality sound (with less tinny treble).
Thanks
Pieter
