Hi Guys
I want a Dac for my media player as first priority and then maybe I will also run my CD player through it. I have no need for USB as I won't ever be using my Pc as a source. 24-96khz is more than sufficient and it must have coax and optical, preferably 2 x Coax.
I would like it to at least equal the sound quality I'm getting from my Nad C516 CD player or slightly better would be good. I've looked at the V-Dac and CA Dac Magic but I'm not really sure, so many people say the VDac is to smooth with tubby Bass others say the Dac Magic is lean and bright. I just want something that's as neutral as possible or rather leaning to the more bassy sound than bright. Are there any other Dacs that I can source locally that will give me what I need.
I would love the Nad D1050 or Arcam rDac, but they are out of my price range. I'm happy to spend up to R5000 maybe a little more if it's going to be a decent upgrade on my Nad C516 sound.
Any suggestions?
