i am thinking of getting a dap for portable, hi-res (flac & maybe higher if justified).
i would like to purchase locally as i do not want to go through the whole import rigmarole.

my question is 2 fold:

suppliers:
so far i have only found 2 suppliers - cplan audio with a couple of products, and ultimate sound who have astell & kern.
are there any factors, other than price & product range, which could influence me to prefer one supplier over the other?
are there any other suppliers locally which i should consider?

products:
if i look at cplan audio i see they have:
- astell & kern ak jr
- hifiman hm802
- fiio x1
- fiio x5
- opus #1 mqs
in my budget range.

i did hear a fiio (i'm not sure which model) at the diy session at francois' place, & it sounded very good through the exclame & home built speakers.
the astell & kern seems to be highly recommended
i can't seem to find any solid reviews on the hifiman & opus though.
the opus has the advantage that storage can go up to 400gb.

i do not yet have headphones to be used with it - those will be a later acquisition.

so my questions on products:
- any comments or recommendations on the products listed above. preferably from actual experience owning or using the products)
- any other products, available locally, which i should perhaps consider.

i know there is another cable war going on, & i hate to distract from that, but this is a sizable investment & i would like to get it right.
currently i am leaning heavily towards the a&k, based on the fact that i have only heard of a&k & fiio previously, & that a&k seems to have very good reviews.

& of course if anyone has a 2nd hand unit they would like to get rid of i would be very open to it.
