... I got so engulfed in Jim Gore's thread that I almost forgot why I came here in the first place ;D
I am busy with my first try to dig a burnt-out transformer out of its pitch-in-can. (.... and the last time as far as I am concerned! )
To those who have also done this:
I find that to lift the transformer out a temperature of some 180?C was required. To further drain the pitch off the transformer itself within reasonable time (a few hours), a temperature of some 260?C was required. [I am really not looking forward to futher ckean the goo off the transformer so as to regain the core - I think a new core for me.]
Any thoughts from those who have been there?
