Howzit. I have been considering getting an Apple TV 4+ to use for streaming tv and music. I have a pretty old LG 3D “smart” TV. Its apps store is as old as the TV with no updates so I mostly use my PS5 for TV and Spotify Connect with my Marantz SR7015 (also going to be migrating to Tidal in the new year). I have been looking in to upgrading my TV for a little while but the old one still works well and looks decent enough, so it would still need something to keep it connected and streaming even after I upgrade and move it to another room later.
My question is, does any one know if the Disney+ app on Apple TV steam with at least 5.1 surround and better than 720p? The PlayStation app is so crap thanks to HotStar (or what ever the SA version of Disney is) it tops out at 720 (if you are lucky) in stereo. And Will Tidal play nice on the Apple TV and be controllable from my phone like Spotify connect?
Ps: I would like to get a Wiim at some point for music, but for my current situation it only does half the work (no video) for more than twice the price.
