I have recently started picking up a slight distortion during playback. In fact, it happened upon my return after the Christmas break as I remember playing one of the discs that I got as a gift when I first heard it. I cleaned up quite extensively after returning home, moving some equipment around to dust, etc. That could have been a factor, so I thought. I have done some more listening while switching around with different connecting options (via DAC, bypassing DAC, direct, etc). It seems to me that the distortion happens when I route the signal via the external DAC to analogue in with stereo + sub engaged, i.e. there is a secondary A/D and D/A conversion for bass management. I have only started using this particular setting late last year and quite liked it, but now it seems to result in this faint distortion. I am now listening in direct-in mode again, so no more bass management, no more sub (which is kind of sad) and no distortion. Any idea as to why this would happen?
