So, ever since I saw Fdlsys's record cleaning machine in action I knew I had to get one, problem is the price tag of R5K plus scared me off......

Got a bee in my bonnet and decided to build one, my biggest inspiration definitely came from this site: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=318672

I did a lot of reading up and purchased all the goodies this weekend, as it stands my total build cost is sitting at around R500 which includes all the wood, vacuum pipes, 12V 10RPM geared motor, decanter tank, switches, transformer etc.....

I started building yesterday, I haven't yet hooked up the motor because I need a pair of bevel gears (anyone know where I can get these from please let me know) but I decided to test it out manually this evening and cleaned a few LP's that were previously just awful and was astonished at just how well it worked.

I'll post pics of the build and links to where you can purchase all of the bits from once I'm done, keep in mind you'll need a donor turntable for the platter and bearings but apart from that its surprisingly easy to build and I cant wait to get finished.
