So, three weeks ago I decide to make some speaker foot pieces for my AR 900 series speakers. Did a bit of shopping around to find spikes. I own a lave but to set it up and time consuming isn't worth it then, maybe on a later stage.
Then it strike me. Bullet point of a Bow can work, so the hunting part started to find them. Found a place in JHB that sell he points, but to send them down will make it more expensive, then with luck i found a place in Cape Town that stocks Bullet Points, At R6 a point!!!! that was a bargain because the one hunting shop wanted R85 for 6.
To make the speaker more stable on the spikes, i found some off cut meranti wood to make some foot pieces that i can set the spikes in and to screw down under the speakers. Sanded the meranti down smoothly and mark out where i need to drill the holes. After that the fun part started. Sprayed them black to fit in with the Black ass color of the AR speakers. The meranti came out really good with black paint and gave the same effect as the speaker unit.
To give some more damping, i used the rubber feet that came with speakers and fitted them nicely between the spike and the wood and nice big washer between the rubber and the wood to make it stable. Found some nice brass washers to fit on top with a close cap nuts.
The setup cost me only R150 to make. Hope you guys like it.
