DIY subwoofer cable advice

Hi everyone,

I want to potentially make a custom coax/rca cable for my active sub. I'm using a Nad D3020 as my amp which has a sub out. The thing is the sub out on the D3020 is a 3.5mm stereo jack and it seems like the jack is mono and not stereo. Can anyone confirm this?

So the two options that I can think of is either getting a mono 3.5 stereo jack to single rca jack (like in the picture below) or making up a cable.
