Matter acoustics..aka Mathew carter Invited me to hear a presentation from the Uk guy from dcs and to come listen a bit.
Was in a wonderful apartment , a set of humungous genesis speakers, krell amps and a Dcs front end, a 4 box 1 bar affair.
A transport, an upsampler/hub, a dac and a clock box.
Whole thing sounded wonderful.. Not sure if it was the speakers or the Dcs..at any rate it played any digital format from any source you could possibly have barring wireless which they recon is not good enough.
The sheer width and depth of the soundstage was cathedral like.. We only listened to 5 tracks, in various formats from Mp3 to dsd and then some softer background listening.. Not quite sure why i was invited, i was way out my league with the 10 ppl invited..luckily i thought to wear long pants.. I couldnt afford one box let alone the complete front end..a look of shock and horror when i was asked what I use as a front end and mentioned a squeezeBox touch...hehehehehe
Anyway it was a great evening and a pleasure to listen to a uberhighend setup..
