I recently aquired (today) a NAD C542 CDP, but prior to this, I was using a Samsung "cheapie" dvd player with a Maverick Tube DAC,
I have read the reviews etc on the NAD CDP, and apparently it has a pretty decent DAC.
My question is, do I really need an external DAC, or will the NAD sound good by itself?
I have not taken delivery of my NAD CPD, as it is in GP and I am in KZN, hence the question, as I am unable to do a comparison.
I do not want an overkill system that does not really improve the sound.....plus I need to free up some cash for a NAD power amp that I have my eye on to power my Mission M35i's.
