I have been asked to check a DVD player whose tray closes for a few seconds then opens again.
It is not a question of the laser not being able to read a disc as this happens even without a disc.
Unplugging the unit for a few minutes did not help.
I removed the cover and noticed that with a disc in place the laser did not light up. I have no idea whether this is normal or not and was wondering whether the problem is an electronic one.
Can anyone suggest what the problem could be?
