We all have our strengths and weaknesses. It is wonderful however to belong to a forum where very clever, talented people are willing to share there expertise and assist those with those talents.

I got a beautiful EMT 948 turntable, it worked well but needed three things to make it perfect, in my opinion.

An EMT TSD15 ?Tondose?moving coil cartridge, a beautiful wooden hanging plinth and a perspex lid.

How do you get a R 23 000.00 cartridge, for less than 50% of the price? You buy a used one and get the genius Skollie to repair it.

Genius is a misused phrase but I think it is applicable in this instance. If you take a strong magnifying glass you can barely make out the stereo wires coming out of the coils in the cart. Now imagine connecting them without adding excessive mass, manufacturing a magnifying glass etc. and you will understand. The attention to detail is impressive in this day and age.

If you consider the skill level then the hours this work took, you are talking about an absolute bargain.

Then, if like me, woodwork is not your forte, you need help. In steps one of the gentlemen on our forum, unassuming, kind and knowledgeable Valvaglo. (With one of the best pair of ears on the forum, if you want to know if you are on the right track, get him to listen to your system).

Anyway, thank goodness we have people of this stature on the forum!!!!  :dop:

Again just a big thank you Andre and Mike, it is much appreciated!!!! :mates: :mates:
