Good Aftenoon every one,
so as the heading suggests I am setting up a new room its a formal lounge and I intend setting up as a lounge first and listening room second so I am not looking for hi end audiophile products ad advice BUT I do have a good ear and would like the room to be at least good.
my first questions I have is in regards to setting up speakers in the room, I know that usually speakers are placed into the room here I would like to have a set of speakers installed and mounted in the wooden shelves I am installing the room theme will be vintage academia so dark heavy wood shelves some with glass doors and lights some open speakers will be installed in the shelf. also because I am aiming for a vintage style room I was also hoping to find a set of semi decent vintage speakers that look good with the grills on or off. saw a set of Kenwood KL-888s which i love the look with the grill on and can leave them on but have heard the sound is badly muffled with grills in place. also say a set of Bose 501 IV which I think wont work due to the need for 450mm space around the entire speaker for correct sound distribution (I know there is a lot of things against bose but I do think their older stuff was very beautiful looking
I do have a small set of Sony book shelf speakers that can be placed on the shelving and have a set of vintage speakers on the shelf just for aesthetics and also a B&W 675 Sub to deal with the lows.
Forgot to mention I want to drive it all from an old 70s Pioneer system if possible (my first HIFI was given to me by my dad in the mid 90s and I have had it ever since (nostalgia)
does anyone have any opinions on these thoughts I have
