Amp: NAD T755
Speakers: Mission MV cinema pack

Issue 1: After a watching TV for a few hours, usually if it gets to a loader scene, the receiver switches itself off into a protection mode (power LED turns red), and then I have to remove the power to the amp, before it clears and I can turn the receiver on again.

Issue 2: The center channel has gotten quite a softer, and I had to turn it up in the configuration menu to come closer to other levels of the speakers. Combined with this, I am unable to use audyssey calibration microphone. When I plug it in and start the calibration the receiver states that its not detecting the speaker, even though I can clearly hear the speaker. The microphone works, as I tested it on my PC last night.

Since the receiver started cutting out, I have taken it out of the cabinet and placed it on top of the cabinet to reduce the risk of overheating, but that hasn't helped much. I have also tried soldering the ends of the speaker cables, but that hasn't solved anything.

Is there anything else I could try? Or do I need to send the receiver/speakers in to be looked at (I'm in Somerset West)? Must I try replacing the speaker wires?
