I'm facing two 21st Century problems.

My CD player - a NAD 5420 has died and is not getting repaired this time. I have a basic BlueRay player, but it's nowhere near as good.

My CD collection, which has been growing since I bought the 5420 is now bursting out of the house.
The plan is to switch to digital streaming into a new system or the rest of that setup - NAD 3020 and AR Pi speakers, which suit the room they're in as well as anything could. I looked at Sonos stuff, but I'm not convinced as far as sound quality is concerned, given what I read on the interwebs.
As an interim measure, I took an old laptop which is too slow to be of much use, bunged a bunch of MP3s and a few FLACs - basically what I had onto a NAS drive and hung an ASUS Xonar usb sound card on it. This is on the way there, but there's room for improvement.
Possibly the biggest challenge is to get some sort of interface onto the thing, which doesn't involve a mouse, keyboard and screen or worse, TV. I'm playing with xbmc and its pretty rudimentary Android remote.
Any ideas. I've deliberately not mentioned a budget, but I was looking at a Sonos Bridge and Play 5 or a Connect through the 3020. These are doable, but expensive.
