So, after reading the unfortunate thread of kenvanraas who got cleaned out I was pondering insuring my bits and pieces. You know how you will eventually have to answer for your sins? Well, my day of reckoning is upon me.
My wife had to replace a broken tennis racket of my son (R2500) and heard today about a friends daughter who's whole tennis bag got swiped, R13K worth of rackets and shoes. Now she wants to insure my sons bag of rackets and tennis goodies and what does she ask me? "Oh, btw, whilst I add the sport equipment, make me a list of the new hifi stuff so I can add it as well".
Well, we all know we don't make lists when we buy stuff. It is just not on. You don't buy hifi stuff and make lists to serve as a constant reminder as to you what you spent! You want to remain oblivious to your expediture of hifi stuff. Here I am, making a damn list and the bottom line does not remotely correspond to the figures I mumbled during small talk. Do you think she forgot the figures? If I lie and take of 50% I shoot myself in the foot! If I die you all will get a great deal if she sells it for what I said I paid. Who else is too scared to add up what they spent? And that is just what I actually paid! If I look at replacement values that figure is going to raise some eyebroughs!
I shall bite the bullet and come clean. Might sleep outside tonight. Man, I am up sthiiicreek without a paddle........ There is only one apt emoticon :angrywife: hehehe
