Many of us are "stuck" on traditional signal sources (Vinyl, magnetic Tape, CD),...and these are good places to be...still very cool to mention it very softly in a crowded bar of university students. Many may have explored MP3 and gone back to Traditional sources and have chosen to live there while theres this massive emergence of newer technology, formats and signal sources which we care not to explore because we may have found a "happy place", but at the same time not choosing to expand our horizon and experience what we may be missing.

So, heres an appeal for some sort of "Master Class" introduction to share your knowledge and experience with us on stuff thats "new"out there..say the last 10 years or so. What are we missing, is it worth it, why do we need it etc.

For example....why do I need a DAC.  :shh: ? FLAC....is someone swearing when they mention this...where can I get it, is it available freely as download, how does it compare to Traditional sources, including MP3 here ?  What else is out there ?  We oogle, and know a little about some stuff but how does it really compare to what we use already? What new source should I invest in?..where do I "start" ?

Embarrassing as it may seem...but how else will we learn.  :help:
