Hi folks apologies for posting this type of question here (I would normally go direct to Mr G with this and he would engineer/ make something, give advice or source it, but alas .... )

I have acquired an ARC LS27 preamplifier and when slid into my audio/ HT rack (which is open on all sides) has only a single centimetre clearance at the top (the LS27 is quite a bit higher than my existing Classe preamp) .  Phoning the local ARC agents (Leo), he suggested that about 6 cm clearance is preferred to dissipate heat from the tubes effectively.

I have 2 options to handle this, one being to fit a pair of fans at the back of the rack behind the LS27 to create airflow and suck air warm away from the LS27, the question would be that I would prefer fans that would run from battery or rechargeable batteries so as to not have to introduce another pair of switch mode power supplies into the equation.  Are such fans (server rack fans, computer chassis fans etc that are silent and are powered from battery) even available anywhere?

The second option would be to move my one power amplifier from its slot in the rack to now be placed on the rack top shelf, behind the TV and install the LS27 in its place.  That would give about 11 centimetres clearance for the LS27 which is ample.

From that the second question arises, would a Power amplifier (Classe CA300) sitting about a centimetre from the back of a television (Samsung QLED, Q80R), on the same shelf as the television cause interference with that television, or interfere with the picture quality in any way?

Thanking you all in advance

Mike
